That said, anything from the first two books, Jade City and Jade War, is on the table for discussion, so if you haven’t read those books you may want to get on that. This review will be spoiler-free aside from some basic premise stuff, like the fact that this novel is spread out over the course of decades. It’s been quite a journey, and while I’m sad to see it end, Jade Legacyfeels like the perfect capstone to the trilogy. Fonda Lee’s tale of magic, family, and clan loyalty is the very definition of enthralling, from its first page to its last.
